Welcome to my blog! My name is Grant, I'm a software engineer who likes to troubleshoot anything and tinker with everything. I have an endless list of personal projects I'd love to pursue, why not start a blog as a place to document all of these projects?
The name "The Code Switcher" is a play on words; as an African American in the software engineering field, not only am I minority in this field, but I'm in the minority of minorities. A side effect of this is that I find myself code switching (not to be confused with style-shifting). At the same time, I often switch bewteen coding languages between my work projects and personal projects. And finally, this is a nod to switch statements in all of my favorite coding languages.
I plan to use this blog to post about my side projects, tech experiments, and coding adventures. Sometimes I'll post a fully polished project, but I'll more often post proofs of concept or only partially flushed out projects. Since I work full time shipping features and writing code, I try to limit the amount of free time I spend coding in favor of my hobbies that don't involve a screen. My goal here isn't to perfect these projects, but to just have some fun in my spare time.
